From March 24 to 26, the Open Championship of the Lebap velayat in table tennis was held. Teams of young and junior athletes studying in sports schools and general secondary schools of the region took part in the competition.
In the boys’ team events, 1st place was taken by the “Turkmenabat-1” team, 2nd place by “Turkmenabat-2,” and 3rd place by the team of the Dänew district.
In the girls’ team events, 1st place was won by the team of the Dänew district, 2nd place by the team of the Farap district, and 3rd place by the “Turkmenabat-1” team.
As part of the championship, in the individual competition among boys born in 2008–2011, 1st place was won by Ilaman Veliyev (Sports School No. 1, Saýat district), 2nd place by Jora Gurbandurdyyev (Sports School No. 1, Saýat district), and 3rd place by Atabek Kurbanbayev (Sports School No. 6, Turkmenabat).
In the individual competition among girls born in 2008–2011, 1st place was taken by Selbi Babajanova (Sports School No. 7, Dänew district), 2nd place by Leyla Zufarova (student of Secondary School No. 58, Farap district), and 3rd place by Manzura Bahramjanova (Sports School No. 7, Dänew district).
In the individual competition among boys born in 2012–2014, 1st place was won by Arslan Sapayev (Sports School No. 6, Turkmenabat), 2nd place by Guwanch Bahramjanov (Sports School No. 7, Dänew district), and 3rd place by Timur Allayarov (Sports School No. 6, Turkmenabat).
In the individual competition among girls born in 2012–2014, 1st place was taken by Enejan Haidova (Sports School No. 6, Turkmenabat), 2nd place by Jemal Muradova (Sports School No. 7, Dänew district), and 3rd place by Jemal Muradova (Sports School No. 3, Döwletli district).
The performances of the youngest participants also attracted great interest. In the boys’ competition among those born in 2015–2016, 1st place was won by Salih Kurbanbayev (Sports School No. 6, Turkmenabat), 2nd place by Ruslan Muradov (student of Secondary School No. 58, Farap district), and 3rd place by Bakhtiyar Hemrayev (Sports School No. 4, Dänew district).
Among girls born in 2015–2016, in the individual competition, 1st place was taken by Aknur Hydyrova (Sports School No. 6, Turkmenabat), 2nd place by Elwan Taganova (Sports School No. 1, Döwletli district), and 3rd place by Bahar Wepayeva (Sports School No. 7, Dänew district).
