The 35th anniversary of sacred Independence has been widely celebrated in Turkmenistan. As part of the festive events, the President of Turkmenistan took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the Independence Monument, one of the symbols of the country’s sovereignty, development and prosperity.

The celebrations continued in the square in front of the State Tribune Complex. On the occasion of the country’s main national holiday, a ceremonial military parade and a festive programme featuring representatives from all regions of Turkmenistan were held here.Those gathered warmly welcomed the President of Turkmenistan. Performances by singers and dance ensembles representing the velayats of Turkmenistan, as well as young artists, added a special vibrancy to the celebrations.

An automobile of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of Turkmenistan moves across the square in front of the country’s main grandstand, followed by a large procession of athletes. Among them are athletes from various sporting disciplines, winners of national and international competitions, as well as their coaches.

The festivities marking the 35th anniversary of Independence continued with a concert held in the square in front of the «Älem» Cultural and Entertainment Centre.

The celebrations dedicated to this significant date are taking place in a year marked by the motto: «Independent neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses».
