With the view of promoting sports among youth, the Ashgabat Chief Department of Education, the sport and health promotion centre of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, the City Council of Magtymguly Youth Organisation of Turkmenistan organise sports tournaments among secondary schools in Ashgabat on a regular basis.
Schoolchildren from Kopetdag, Bagtyyarlyk, Berkararlyk and Buzmein etrap will perform in the mini football tournament in September, the volleyball tournament in October, the athletics tournament in November and the outdoor games and table tennis tournaments in December.
Currently, the mini football matches are taking place on the sports grounds throughout the city. Winners will be announced in late September.
Winners will receive diplomas of honour and valuable gifts.
