The Turkmenistan champion, FC Arkadag, secured a convincing 3:0 victory over India’s FC Goa in the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League Two for the 2026/27 season.

The match took place on August 12 at Arkadag Stadium and proved decisive in the battle for a place in the group stage of Asia’s second-tier club competition. According to the tournament regulations, the tie consisted of a single match: the winner earned the right to continue competing in the AFC Champions League Two, while the losing team moved to the group stage of the AFC Challenge League.

For Arkadag, the match was another important international test. The Turkmen club already has considerable experience in Asian club competitions. In the 2025/26 season, the team reached the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League Two, where it faced Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr in the Round of 16.

The victory over Goa is of great significance for Turkmen football. It allows Arkadag to continue its campaign on Asia’s leading club stage and represent Turkmenistan among the participants in the AFC Champions League Two group stage.
