Turkmen athletes successfully competed at the 2026 IWF World Youth Weightlifting Championships held in Cali, Colombia.

Two of our compatriots took the podium in the 53 kg weight class. Ogulshat Amanova won three gold medals in the snatch (86 kg), clean and jerk (105 kg) and combined total (191 kg).

In the same weight class, Shabnam Kerimbayeva won silver in the snatch (105 kg) and bronze in the combined total (188 kg).

Atabek Azamatov, competing in the 60 kg weight class, achieved significant success in the men's competition. He lifted 116 kg in the snatch and 133 kg in the clean and jerk. Atabek lifted 249 kg in the combined event, earning a silver medal in both events. He also won a small gold medal in the snatch.

Last year, at the IWF World Youth Championships in Lima, Peru, the four-member Turkmenistan team won 10 medals: 7 silver and 3 bronze.
