Under the leadership of the Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a state policy on the development of the digital economy is being implemented in our country, covering all sectors. Special attention is paid to the introduction of modern technologies into the national sports system. The State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan is carrying out comprehensive measures aimed at the wide-scale adoption of digital systems and improving their efficiency. This work is being implemented in accordance with the Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019–2025 (approved by the Presidential Resolution of November 30, 2018), the Resolution on the Creation and Implementation of an Electronic Document Management System and Internet Websites (February 27, 2020), as well as the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2021–2025 (February 12, 2021).
At the central office of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, modern computer equipment, servers connected to high-speed Internet, and local corporate networks have been installed. This ensures the automation of information exchange between government institutions and the efficient functioning of the electronic document management system. To guarantee information security, the official website of the committee (www.sportcom.gov.tm) has been launched and is regularly updated in accordance with modern requirements. The electronic document management system “NAMA,” which complies with the Unified Technical Requirements for Automated Electronic Information Databases approved by the “Türkmenaragatnaşyk” agency, has also been implemented.
In December 2024, the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Digital System for 2025 was approved, prepared by the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan and its subordinate organizations. According to this plan, work is underway on the certification and implementation of software across all relevant institutions.
Online services have been introduced at major sports facilities such as the National Olympic Sports Complex (www.moskhj.com.tm), the Winter Sports Complex (www.buzlykoshk.com.tm), the Olympic Aquatic Sports Complex (www.suw-toplum.gov.tm), and the multifunctional “Ashgabat” stadium (www.aks.gov.tm). In addition, the digital system “mekdep.edu.tm,” widely used in the education sector, has been implemented in specialized sports boarding schools for young Olympians in Ahal velayat, at the School for Young Olympians, and at the “Olimp” Secondary Sports School.
In accordance with the Presidential Resolution of October 27, 2020, a list of important information infrastructure facilities was compiled, and their classification was carried out. As part of this, a working group was established to conduct necessary activities ensuring the information security of all organizations and enterprises. In cooperation with the economic society “Türkmenportal,” work is being conducted on automated electronic information databases to ensure their accessibility and cybersecurity.
