Dear compatriots!
The year 2024, held under the motto The Treasury of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy, is ending, and soon we will welcome the new year, 2025.
According to the Eastern calendar, the upcoming year is the Year of the Snake. The year behind us has been marked by significant milestones in the modern history of our independent homeland, including notable achievements in the lives of our citizens and the realization of grand-scale initiatives envisioned by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag.
This year, numerous modern schools, kindergartens, medical and sports facilities, cultural institutions and industrial complexes were inaugurated across the country. Thousands of families have become proud owners of new homes.
Major successes were achieved in various sectors. In the fuel and energy industry alone, several large projects were implemented: the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline began, specifically the Serhetabat–Herat section, also known as Arkadagyň ak ýoly. Ceremonies were held for the opening and groundbreaking of major energy and transport-communication infrastructure projects.
In the Ahal and Lebap provinces, the second phases of the Baherden and Lebap cement plants were commissioned. Additionally, new power plants and high-voltage power lines connecting Balkan and Dashoguz regions began operation, along with advanced water purification facilities.
In a picturesque corner of the Kopetdag Mountains, the cultural and park complex Magtymguly Pyragy and a monument to the poet-thinker were ceremoniously unveiled.
The architectural beauty of our capital has been further enhanced by the opening of new facilities, including the Specialized Military School named after Berdymuhamed Annaev. The second phase of the city of Arkadag is also underway, guided by the 2024–2052 development concept. Our smart city has garnered prestigious awards at international exhibitions.
The construction of modern villages and housing facilities continues dynamically, reflecting the economic potential and tremendous achievements of our sovereign homeland.

Reforms in the agricultural sector have also brought notable success. This year, state procurement prices for cotton and wheat grown on our fertile lands were increased. Tireless farmers fulfilled their contractual obligations by delivering over 1.4 million tons of high-quality grain to the state – a testament to the abundance and prosperity of our homeland. Moving forward we will continue to implement targeted measures to economically support farmers and strengthen the industry’s material and technical base.
Significant strides have been made in the oil and gas, transport, communication, trade, and entrepreneurship sectors, all contributing to our nation's achievements.
Dear compatriots!
The health and well-being of our people remain a key priority in state policy. This year saw the opening of the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology, the International Wellness and Rehabilitation Center and other medical facilities. Public health initiatives will continue to receive close attention.
Constructive reforms have been implemented in science and education. We remain committed to fostering an educated, knowledgeable, and patriotic younger generation while supporting youth initiatives.
Our efforts to promote sports and elevate Turkmenistan’s international sporting reputation have also been fruitful. At the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Turkmenistan’s initiative led to the adoption of the resolution United Nations Friendship Games. Furthermore, Ashgabat was declared the City of New Sporting Opportunities of the Commonwealth.
These achievements reaffirm our country’s significant contributions to the advancement of sports and sports diplomacy.

This year, our nation was elected a member of the UN Commission for Social Development for 2025–2029. Additionally, the UN General Assembly, at Turkmenistan’s initiative, declared 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. Resolutions on Central Asia – A Zone of Peace, Trust, and Cooperation and the Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia were also adopted, underscoring our commitment to strengthening collaboration with the UN.
The year the Treasury of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy saw the successful hosting of the International Forum the Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – The Foundation of Peace and Development when the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy. This forum significantly enhanced Turkmenistan’s reputation as a peace-loving nation. Those who contributed to preserving and promoting the poet’s rich literary heritage were honored with commemorative medals and awards.
In 2024, the city of Anau was recognized as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, hosting numerous international events.
We have also made great efforts to preserve and promote our national culture. The past year was marked by numerous international cultural events with the Culture Week in Arkadag City playing a significant role. In 2025, a similar event will be held in the Ahal province.
Overall, 2024 has been a year of labor achievements and the growing prestige of our sovereign homeland.

In 2025, we will host large-scale international events celebrating the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. We will continue to contribute to global peace, trust and sustainable development goals.
Dear compatriots!
To improve citizens' well-being, we will raise salaries, pensions, state benefits, and student stipends by 10% starting January 1, 2025.
The new year, which we welcome with bright dreams, promises to be filled with successes and new accomplishments. We rely on the strength, energy and hard work of our people to achieve these grand goals. Together with our courageous nation we will strive to transform our beloved homeland into a land of happiness and prosperity.
