The competition in doubles among boys and girls at the International Tournament Ashgabat Open 2024 with the participation of athletes from 12 countries ended today with a convincing victory of the representatives of the Turkmen tennis school.

In the men's final, which lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes, Nazar Amangeldyyev and Kerimgeldi Velibegov won in both sets on a tie-break against their compatriots Yunus Annamyradov and Aly Geldyev, seeded second, 7:6 (7:4), 7:6 (7:4).

In the women's doubles, as expected, the first-seeded Turkmen tennis players Ilima Guseynova and Aylara Kakabayeva won, beating their second-seeded compatriots Aynur Annamyradova and Nazli Hudaykulieva - 6:4, 6:1.

The final match was preceded by two semi-finals in singles, in which Ilima Guseynova defeated Sulgun Ishankuliyeva – 6:3, 6:2, and Aylara Kakabayeva won against Nazli Hudaykulieva – 5:7, 6:1, 6:3.

Thus, Ilima Guseynova and Aylara Kakabayeva will meet in the women's singles final. And the bronze medals in the match for 3rd place will be played between Nazli Hudaykulieva and Sulgun Ishankuliyeva.

In the men's singles final, Suleyman Hudayberdiyev, Turkmenistan and Muhammad Usmani, Pakistan will compete for the main prize, and in the match for 3rd place Malaysians Gareth Lim Hao Zhe and Jacob Wong will play. This was determined based on the results of the semi-final matches, in which S.Hudayberdiyev won a strong-willed victory over Gareth Lim Hao Zhe – 3:6, 7:5, 6:0, and M.Usmani easily defeated D.Wong – 6:2, 6:1.

The final matches in singles will be held on November 16 in the Tennis Complex of the Olympic Village of the Turkmen capital.
