All prizes in girls' singles at the ongoing Ashgabat Open 2024 International Tennis Tournament in the Turkmen capital among players under 14 years old will be played for by Turkmen athletes.
This was determined following the results of another game day, following which the following reached the quarterfinals: Ilima Guseynova, Aylara Kakabayeva, Aynur Annamyradova, Nazli Hudaykuliyeva, Sulgun Ishankuliyeva, Safiya Tribunskaya, Jennet Orazaliyeva and Anna Ponyatova.
In women's doubles, as expected, the top four seeded players reached the semifinals. In the first match for the final, Ilima Guseynova and Aylara Kakabayeva will play against Aynur Agamuradova and Jennet Orazaliyeva, and in the second, Sulgun Ishankuliyeva in a pair with Uzbek athlete Safiya Sharipova will face Turkmen tennis players Aynur Annamyradova and Nazli Hudaykuliyeva.
But in the competition among young men, the Turkmen tennis players will have serious competition from Muhammad Usmani from Pakistan, Mohammed Al Ali from the United Arab Emirates, and Gareth Lim Hao Zhe and Jacob Wong from Malaysia, who made it to the quarterfinals. Of the Turkmen tennis players, the first four seeded tennis players Emirhan Rustamov, Suleyman Hudayberdiyev, Yunus Annamyradov and Aly Geldyev made it to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, the semifinalists in the doubles among young men have been determined. In the first match for the final Turkmen tennis players Nazar Amangeldyyev and Kerimgeldi Velibegov will play against Yaroslav Bobrov (Kazakhstan) and Muhammetsapa Serdarov (Turkmenistan). And in the other semi-final, the second ticket to the final will be played between Yunus Annamyradov and Aly Geldyev from Turkmenistan and Gareth Lim Hao Zhe and Jacob Wong from Malaysia.
