FC Arkadag beat Maldivian club in AFC Challenge League™ 2024/25

Turkmenistan’s FC Arkadag produced a fighting performance to edge Maziya Sports & RC of Maldives 2-1 in their AFC Challenge League™ 2024/25 Group B fixture at the Kuwait Sports Club Stadium.

FC Arkadag went into the break losing 0-1 after a shot from inside the penalty area by Jonathan Cantillan in the 45th minute. In the 66th minute Didar Durdyev equalized with a header.

The goal rejuvenated Arkadag and they took the lead in the 76th minute after Altymyrat Annadurdyyev rose highest to nod home Tirkishov’s cross from the left to seal the come from behind victory.

The come-from-behind win took Arkadag to the top of the standings, ahead of Kyrgyz Republic’s FC Abdysh-Ata who defeated Al Arabi SC of Kuwait 1-0 in the earlier match.

In the next round Vladimir Bayramov's team will play Abdysh-Ata and Maziya will meet Al-Arabi SC.
