Galkan Hockey Club from Turkmenistan won a major victory 8-1 over the Bahrain Ice Hockey Club from Bahrain in the first round match of the international tournament, which started in Ashgabat today.
The Galkan players opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, and the Turkmen team jumped out to a 5-0 lead by the end of the first period. Bahrain closed the gap in the second period, but Galkan regained the initiative in the third 20-minute period and brought the game to a crushing victory.
The two teams play in Group A. The tournament will last until April 20.
