Through the policy of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the country has gained the large-scale accomplishments, including in the sports sector. This is clearly evidenced by the achievements gained by our athletes at the tournaments in the country and abroad.

As reported at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on the results of 11 months of the year, the athletes of Turkmenistan won 739 medals. This is the result of the joint, purposeful efforts of the State Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, sports institutions, schools and federations. Consistent measures are taken to fulfil the tasks set for Turkmenistan’s sports sector by Hero Arkadagly Serdar.

Our athletes won 5 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals at the XIV World Kurash Championships, which was held in our capital in November. Our team vividly demonstrated their skills at the 16th World Wushu Championships, which was held in the United States in November, and returned home with medals.

Currently, the Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar organisational group, set up in accordance with the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, is working to hold the International Youth Science Practical Conference and Exhibition.
