On September 29, 2026, the opening of the 1,200-seat Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan was held in the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. The event was attended by the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag.
The ceremony began with a performance by the national equestrian group «Galkynyş» and cultural figures. Taking the podium, Hero-Arkadag delivered a speech and congratulated everyone on the opening of the new complex. Amidst enthusiastic applause from the participants, he then cut the ceremonial ribbon at the 1,200-seat Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex.
The ceremonial ribbon at the main entrance to the complex was cut by the President of Turkmenistan, who arrived at the event. The Head of State viewed the «Atly ýigit» sculptural composition. He then watched demonstration performances by athletes in equestrian sports and show jumping in the indoor arena.
The President of Turkmenistan also familiarized himself with the conditions created in the stables on the territory of the complex and watched a demonstration performance by the «Galkynyş» team in the outdoor arena.
The festive programme continued on the square in front of the main building with a ceremonial procession of 35 horsemen dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Independence. This was followed by musical performances. The winners of the competitions held as part of the celebrations were also announced here.
At the conclusion of the festivities, the President of Turkmenistan witnessed the wedding ceremony of young couples and took commemorative photographs with them. Following the festive events, a traditional wedding sadaqah was held.
