This good news became one of the most important results in the history of the Turkmen student sports. The Turkmen athlete won a bronze medal at the FISU World University Games 2023 held in Chengdu, the People's Republic of China.

Aygozel Gurbangeldiyeva, a 5th-year student at Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports, achieved an outstanding result at the wushu sanda tournament. The talented athlete competed in the 52-kilogramme weight class event. Having defeated a representative of Pakistan, our compatriot performed confidently at the tournament. The Turkmen athlete lost to Ruggieri Maïwen (France) and brought a bronze medal of the Summer Universiade to the national team of Turkmenistan.

The excellent result entered the history of the Turkmen sports as the second success at the FISU World University Games and inspired our students and athletes to win glorious victories.
