A friendly match between the national ice hockey team of Turkmenistan and the Ak Bars Kazan team took place at the Winter Sports Complex.

The national ice hockey team of Turkmenistan competes in Group A of the 2023 IIHF World Championship Division III held in the Republic of South Africa on April 17–23.
