On November 16, the awarding ceremony of the Youth Prize of Turkmenistan was held in honour of the young people who made a special contribution to the development of different spheres of public life. The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan and became a symbol of comprehensive concern and great respect for young people in our country. The athletes and professionals who have glorified our Motherland with sports achievements were among the Prize winners.
Polina GURYEVA,
a student, Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports, a silver medallist of the XXXII Summer Olympic Games:
– This year marked the 30th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan and enhanced the glory of the Turkmen sports. I was lucky to win a silver medal at the XXXII Summer Olympics in Tokyo and receive a generous gift by the President of Turkmenistan this year. This high honour has become a symbol of great happiness for my family. Today, I am very happy to be awarded another honourable title. The state's support for hard work and dedication inspires the young people to achieve great success.

– Thanks to the comprehensive concern of the President of Turkmenistan for the youth, our national flag is raised highly nowadays. According to the decision of the International Weightlifting Federation, the Turkmen leader awarded me the gold medals of the World Championships earlier this year. This success and my work as a coach were complimented by the state awards and generous gifts.
Owing to the concern of the President of Turkmenistan, the youth holds the training sessions at the sports facilities with excellent conditions.

– The ceremony of awarding a large group of winners of the Youth Prize was held to celebrate the anniversary of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan. The young people who made special contribution to the development of different spheres of public life were awarded at the event. As a representative of the Turkmenistan Sport International Journal, I was also among these lucky winners. I am very proud to receive the Youth Prize of Turkmenistan and a generous gift from the Turkmen leader.

– It has become a noble tradition in our country to annually honour the leading youth with the honorary title of ‘Winner of the Youth Prize of Turkmenistan’. I was lucky to be awarded that honorary title this year. Excellent conditions are created for young people to do sports in our country. Thanks to that fact, I won a number of international taekwondo events, including in three Asian Championships and two World Cups. The young people are very happy that their work has been honoured with such a great award.
