A solemn ceremony of awarding the participants in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games took place at Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport.

The heads and officials of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy, Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, public organisations and coaches attended the festive event.

Those speaking at the ceremony noted that the President of Turkmenistan showed unceasing concern for athletes and created conditions conducive to training and performing Olympic athletes at international tournaments and championships. This has resulted in a silver medal awarded to a Turkmen weightlifter Polina Guryeva at the XXXII Summer Games in Tokyo.
