31.08.2020. Founding meeting of International association Türkmen alabaý itleri with the Headquarter in the capital of our country has taken place.
Around 200 delegates – heads and leading specialists of number of ministries and departments, public organizations, national media have participated in the forum in the conference hall of Archabyl Hotel as well as representatives of foreign kennel federation, associations, clubs, scientific and research centres from Armenia, Belgium, Belarus, Georgia, Iran, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France and other countries by video conference mode.
The agenda included the subjects of re-organization of Türkmen alabaý itleri Association and establishment of Türkmen alabaý itleri (Turkmen Alabays) International Association. In particular, Draft Chapter of the Association has been reviewed and approved, foreign members as well as members of Executive Committee, control and revision commission and management have been elected. In addition, departments of Association in Ashgabat and regions of the country have been instituted, heads of the departments have been elected and other organization issues have been discussed.
The participants highlighted that conservation and popularization of national historical heritage are the priorities of the policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, development of breeding of alabays, increment of livestock of this unique breed are important aspects of wide-scale work in this sphere.
Book of the President “ Turkmen Alabay” speaks about important role of alabays in life and destiny of Turkmen people. It summarizes long studies, thoughts, historical and literature information about the origin of ancient breed, which was widely spread in the world.
Türkmen alabaý itleri Association has been established in May 2020. The main goal of the organization implies the succession of the best traditions of national kennel school.
Complex of buildings of Türkmen alabaý itleri Business Entity in Akbugday district, Ahal Region, veterinary clinic and home pet shelter, which meet international standards in Anau have been put into operation recently. Modern treatment and diagnostic centre is provided with advanced medical equipment designated for preventive vaccination of animals, detection of diseases and professional treatment.
At present moment, the Association builds Quarantine Centre in Ahal Region and Turkmen Alabay Breeding Centres in Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, Mary Regions and Ashgaabt. In addition, complex of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association is under construction in Ashgabat.
Türkmeniň nusgalyk alabaýy Magazine of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association has been founded for development of dog breeding in the country, wide popularization of success achieved in this direction on international level. The articles, which will be published in the magazine, speak about the history and traditions, national and world practice of breeding of alabays.
New specialty, the cynology, has been opened at the Department of Veterinary Medicine of Turkmen Agricultural University.
In addition, new complex of buildings of Breeding and Improvement of Turkmen Alabays has been put into operation in the State Border Guard Service.
At the same time, important role is given to international partners. In particular, long-term cooperation is established with the UNESCO, the United Nations specialized authority for education, science and culture and other big competent organizations including foreign associations, which work in this direction, as well as legal entities and private dog breeders from different countries of the world.
In future, it is planned to hold regular conferences, exhibitions, beauty contests of Turkmen alabays and other international events as well as to conduct relative scientific studies.
Number of lovers of Turkmen alabays is growing in different parts of the planet in the last years. Taking into account this huge interest, the foundation of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association in our country will support not only the unification of all specialists and breeding and training of dogs, scientists and amateurs of alabays on historical birthplace of famous Central Asian shepherd dogs but also further increment of elite livestock, spread and popularization of this unique breed, conservation of its purity, exchange of practice and establishment of efficient international cooperation in dog breeding.
Foreign partners have also spoke with support of the initiative of foundation of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association. Thus, President of Hazar Kennel Club Astrakhan Regional Public Organization, Russian Federation Stanislav Ivanov, who highly appreciated the merits of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in protection and popularization of Turkmen alabays in the world, addressed to the participants of the session by video call.
Having expressed gratitude for the decision to take him as a member of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association, S. Ivanov noted that this is a big honur for him and expressed gratitude to Turkmen leader.
Specialist of French National Scientific and Research Centre, Archaeologist Julio Bendezu- Sarmjento made a speech thereafter. The scientist has made a substantial trip to the history of taming of dogs, which according to the latest studies has started more than 15,000 years ago, having demonstrated the stages of this process on slideshow. Based on the data of archaeological studies in Turkmenistan, French scientist confirmed the conclusion on the ancientness of alabay and special attitude of Turkmen to this dog.
The alabays, which are distinguished with will to win, physical and spiritual power, kindness, are an integral part of national heritage together with ahalteke horses, archaeological monuments and other values. Turkmens saw their dream in the horse and happiness in alabay. Therefore, the alabays are the symbols of success and victory, Julion Bendezu-Sramjento stated.
Chairman of Uzbek Wolfhound Conservation Society of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akobir Shukurov, who highlighted importance of collection and exchange of information of the conditions of the breed, definition of the main directions in its breeding, has joined video conference session. Currency of various joint profile events including methodological conferences, exhibitions, contests, seminars, lectures, round tables has been mentioned in his speech.
In the end, Akobir Shukurov expressed confidence that cooperation with Turkmen colleagues would increase efficiency and quality of work on protection of gene pool and increment of livestock of thoroughbred representatives of this wonderful dog for future generations.
After, the floor was given to the Head of the Board of Horse Breeding and Cynology Federation of the Republic of Turkey Umit Ozkanal. Having expressed gratitude for accepting him as a member of International Organization, he said that having big practice in work of FCI, he would make all possible for wide popularization and recognition of the value of Turkmen alabay on international level.
Professor, veterinary doctor from the People’s Republic of China Wang Jengshan, who addressed congratulations on occasion of the foundation of Türkmen alabaý itleri and election of S. Berdimuhamedov as the Chairman on behalf of delegation of the PRC, was the next to speak. It was highlighted that foundation of International Association will serve to development of the world kennel industry, in the history of which Turkmen alabay occupies deserving place as a model of selection work and outstanding skills.
Sincere gratitude has been expressed to the address of Türkmen alabaý itleri Intnrational Association for review of the candidates of representatives of the PRC as its members. At the same time, willingness to further active participation in activity of the association and support in enhancement of the world glory of Turkmen alabay, stimulation of scientific and cultural exchange, strengthening of friendship and cooperation between China and Turkmenistan have been expressed.
Head of the Centre of Central Asian Shepherd Dogs “Triple” of the Republic of Belarus Lyudmila Butkevich has made a speech thereafter. Professional cynologist, she is interested in breeding of Central Asian dogs for more than 20 years, highlighted distinguishing features of the dogs, which received high appraisals of specialists.
Throughout long time, turkmen alabays demonstrate such characteristics as dedication, friendliness, ability to adapt to various climate conditions. Specialized kennel shelter has been opened in Belarus several years ago, Mrs Butkevich said, having noted that she take direct part herself in breeding and training of dogs.
Representative of the Republic of Belarus has confirmed the willingness of her Centre to cooperate actively with Turkmen partners in this field.
After, the floor was given to President of Georgian Kennel Federation Gia Giorgadze. Having congratulated the participants and Turkmen nation on remarkable date – the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and noted that this is a big honour for him to take part in this session, the spokesman on behalf of his structure and personally has congratulated all on the foundation of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association.
It was highlighted that Georgia knows about the attention that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pays to protection and development of national kennel traditions. Having noted that this breed is very popular is his country, Mr Giorgadze wished success in activity of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association, having expressed the confidence that its foundation would give good opportunity for active cooperation between Georgian and Turkmen dog breeders.
Cynologist from the Islamic Republic of Iran Garaja Masud Haliaga has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to take part in current event. Having noted importance of giving international status to the Association, the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran highlighted that Turkmen alabays are the world famous breed and is popular owing to its outstanding characteristics.
In this context, Mr. Haliaga has spoken for the relevance to determine the collection of information related to the history, current and future perspectives of this breed as the main direction of activity of new Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association.
At the same time, such characteristics specific to alabay as intelligence, boldness, sensitivity, stamina, excellent watch skills and dedication have been noted.
Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran has wished big success in activity of International Association, which is to support to revival, conservation and continuation of rich national kennel traditions, further improvement of this breed together with study of historical heritage of Turkmen people. In the end, Garaja Masud Haliaga has confirmed the willingness to support to work of this Association.
President of Armenian Association of Dog Lovers, kennel expert Vanik Akopyan has expressed since gratitude to the management of Türkmen alabaý itleri Intenrational Association for the opportunity to participate in the session as well as for accepting of experts from Armenia to the membership of the Association.
Vanik Akopyan has expressed the confidence that excellent start has been given to Turkmen – Armenian cooperation in dog breeding sphere including on international grounds and profile exhibitions.
Having warmly congratulated the Chairman and members of the Association on foundation of the organization, which is to deal with breeding of thoroughbred Turkmen alabays, conservation and wide popularization of this unique breed, the representative of the Republic of Armenia wished big success in work to all participants.
The participants of the session have unanimously adopted the decision on foundation of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association with the headquarter in Ashgabat. Proposed draft Chapter of the Association has been approved after discussion.
After, the participants have voted for the admission of foreign members to Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association. 25 people from 11 countries – Georgia, Russian Federation, France, Armenia, China, Iran, Turkey, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, have become the members of the association.
Representative of International Kennel Federation with the headquarter in the kingdom of Belgium has also taken part in the session.
Members of the Executive Committee and Control and Revision Commission, heads of departments of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association in Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Regions and Ashgabat have been elected.
Candidacy of Minister of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been proposed for the post of the chairman of the association. By the result of the voting, he was unanimously elected to this post. Private dog breeder Annageldy Yazmyradov has been elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Association.
The participants of the forum have supported the proposal to observe Turkmen Alabay Holiday annually on the last Sunday of April and to hold regular session of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association on the same days.
Presentation of book of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Turkmen alabay”, which was published in Arabic language, has been held during the forum.
General Manager, Owner of Orient Consulting & Legal Translation Safa Mahmoud Al Janabi (United Arab Emirates) expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for special attention paid to development of bred of Turkmen alabays. It was mentioned that award of international status to Türkmen alabaý itleri, which includes 20 members from different parts of the world, as well as decisions adopted at the first session have become an important step to comprehensive popularization of this famous breed, which is one of the oldest in the world civilization, which age according to scientific data varies from three to six thousand years.
Turkmenistan carefully preserves and honours rich heritage of the centuries. Translation of the book into Arabic reveal our country for big reading auditory of Arabic world, which has received an excellent opportunity to extend their knowledge about rich history and unique culture of Turkmen nation and its spiritual values.
As is known, our countries have similar priorities in protection and improvement of historical and cultural heritage, national crafts, which are universal values. Current event is very important in strengthening of peace, enrichment of cultures of two fraternal nations, expansion of humanitarian dialog, the businessman highlighted.
In the end of the session, the participants have expressed the confidence that activity of Türkmen alabaý itleri International Association would support to further spread of this unique breed around the world.
