On April 19, 2020, the first match of the next round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship was held. The day after the match Altyn Asyr vs Kopetdag, Ahal FC will play with Sagadam FC at the Ashgabat multi-functional stadium. The 4th round can bring changes to the Championship standings. We asked an AFC Cup winner, experienced midfielder from Ahal FC Artur Gevorkyan to tell us about the possible changes in the standings and the course of the Turkmenistan Football Championship.
— Please provide your comment on today’s match with Sagadam FC, a victory over which will raise Ahal FC to the top of the standings.
— Yes, today’s match with Sagadam FC will not be easy, since the result of this game is very important for us. The Championship has just begun, and all the difficult matches are to be played. Today we will play to win.
— Currently, only five national football championships hold matches. Turkmenistan, where the championship has resumed, is among them. This imposes a great responsibility. What do you think about this situation?
— I think it is very good that everything is fine and calm in our country, which allows holding the Championship. The responsibility that rests with the players has always been, and it remains now. At the moment, the whole world is following our Turkmen championship. Certainly, this is very pleasing.
— Ahal FC’s objectives for this season are clear to everyone. The team competes for the champion title every year. What could hinder competition for the champion title this season?
— Ahal FC seeks to rank first in the championship every year. We have started well this season. Our efforts should continue in the same spirit, and I think we will achieve all the objectives. But we must always remember that all the teams are well prepared and ready to compete, and this is what our football, where competition continues until full completion, is interesting for.
— Artur, thank you very much for our conversation. I wish you every success!
— Thank you!
