On January 31, 2020, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a briefing dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, as well as on the occasion of proclaiming the year 2020 as «Turkmenistan – Home of Neutrality.»
The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, University of World Economy and Diplomacy, the national news agencies «UzA,» «Dunyo» and «Новости Узбекистана (News of Uzbekistan),» Association of the Electronic Mass Media, National Television radiobroadcasting, «UzReport» television channel, as well as the «Народное слово (People’s Voice)» и «Правда Востока (Reality of the East)» newspapers participated to the briefing.
During his speech, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan informed about the history of Turkmen neutrality and stated its significance in the process of strengthening peace and security, as well as in maintaining stable development in the Central Asian region and in the whole world.
Alongside, the plans on holding the International Conference «Policy of Neutrality and its importance in ensuring international peace, security and sustainable development» on December 11-12, 2020 in Ashgabat were announced.
Upon the completion of the event, the participants got acquainted with the topical books, informational and video materials during the exhibition held in the Embassy on the occasion of 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality of the country.
