On September 5, 2020, delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the "World Conference on Cooperation and Development in the Field of Tourism", which was held on the sidelines of the "China International Trade Fair for Trade in Services 2020" at the invitation of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF).

It should be noted that the participation of the delegation became possible in connection with the admission of the city of Ashgabat to the WTCF in May this year after the presentation of the corresponding electronic certificate.

The head of the delegation of Turkmenistan spoke at the main final session under the titles "Investments in tourism and its financing" and "Changing directions and reorienting the tourism industry."

In his speech, the representative of Turkmenistan drew particular attention to the significant political and socio-economic reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, aimed at cardinal changes in the living standards of the population, diversification of the economy, development of the private sector, tourism and other spheres, as well as the historical and civilizational role of Turkmenistan in the formation and strengthening of the Great Silk Road.

He also emphasized the special importance of the policy of Neutrality, the 25th anniversary of which is celebrated this year, as well as the international initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan aimed at maintaining peace and stability.
