In Tokyo it was held a presentation of World and Asian Championships to be hosted by Ashgabat

At the 56th General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) in Tokyo, a delegation from Turkmenistan made a presentation of the largest sports competitions to be held in Ashgabat in 2020 – the Asian Futsal Championship and the World Sambo Championship.

The group, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on television, radio and cinematography Annasakhed Kakayev, presented the permanent and associate members of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union the upcoming Championships, as well as all the data for the acquisition of rights to broadcast the competition.

In addition, the Turkmen delegation will hold a number of bilateral meetings to exchange experience and develop joint projects.

The ABU General Assembly, held in Tokyo until November 22, brought together more than 600 broadcasters. Besides the coverage of sports events at the meetings, they also discussed issues of building audience confidence, new forms of information presentation, particularly using ultra-high image resolutions – 4K, 8K and VR technologies.

A gala concert of the 8th ABU TV Song Festival will also be held as part of the meetings in Japan.

The previous ABU General Assembly was held in Ashgabat.
