A good news came from South Korea. A Turkmen sambo wrestler Novruz Atayev, a coach from sports school 5 of the Ashgabat Chief Department of Sports and Youth Policy won a medal and stood on the podium on the 3rd day of the World Sambo Championships, which is taking place at the Soku sports complex in Cheongju.
Our combat sambo wrestler, who is performing in the under 52 kg category of the tournament, won a bronze medal. As was reported, our athletes – a 5th-year student from the Institute of National Security Ahmet Tanryberdyev (57 kg) and an officer from the Ministry of Internal Affairs Charymurat Annagurbanov (100 kg) won the bronze medals at the World Championships.
Our compatriot, a 5th-year student from Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Kerimberdy Dovletov (67 kg) completed his performance at the World Championships with a silver medal.
