Today, the title of Honorary Doctor of Hirosaki University has been awarded to the President of Turkmenistan, www.tdh.gov.tm reported.
The Academic Council of the University adopted the decision to award the title of Honorary Doctor of Hirosaki University to the leader of the Turkmen state for his contribution to the promotion of Turkmenistan-Japan relations, science and education.
The President of Turkmenistan addressed the Turkmen young people, who study at the institutions of higher education in Japan.
Addressing the young people, the leader of the Turkmen state expressed belief that the representatives of Turkmen sport would show good results and perform successfully at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
In the context of the consistent implementation of the foreign policy strategy of  neutral Turkmenistan initiated by the national leader, great importance is attached to cooperation with Japan, diplomatic relations with which were established in 1992.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is paying a working visit to Japan these days.
