The following five teams have qualified for the final tournament of the 2020 AFC Futsal Championships. The qualifying matches continue.
TURKMENISTAN. The Turkmenistan national team qualified for the final tournament of the AFC Futsal Championships as the host. The games will take place between February 24 and March 10, 2020. This is the seventh AFC Championships in the final tournament of which the Turkmenistan national team will perform.
KUWAIT. The first team that performed convincingly in the qualifying group stage in the Western zone and qualified for the Championships. It is one of the most experienced teams in Asia. Thi will be the twelfth championships for the Kuwait national team in Ashgabat. Futsal players from Kuwait reached the semifinals in Iran in 2003 and in Vietnam in 2014.
BAHRAIN. Held qualifying games among its fans, and made its way with great difficulty to the final tournament. Futsal players from Bahrein tied with the UAE team, defeated the Palestine team and the Kuwait team. These victories allowed them to enter the final tournament and visit Ashgabat in February 2020. The 2020 AFC Championships will be the third championships in the career of the Bahrain national team. They were able to reach the quarter finals in previous years.
LEBANON. The Lebanese futsal players defeated the Oman national team 10:2 in the first match, the Saudi Arabia national team 2:1 in the second match and the Qatar national team 8:1 in the third match. So, Lebanon is the only team in its group that has not lost a point. This will be the twelfth futsal festival for Lebanese futsal players in Ashgabat. Since 2003, they have not missed a final tournament and reached the quarter finals seven times.
SAUDI ARABIA. Futsal players from Saudi Arabia took the second place in the group and got with great difficulty the right to compete for the Asian trophy on the fields of Ashgabat. The Saudi Arabia national team participated in the AFC Championships only once in 2016, took third place in the group and ranked twelfth among the 16 teams in the Championships.
