A regular meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State chaired by Turkmenistan will take place in Ashgabat this week.
In recent years, our country has become the venue for major meetings and forums under the auspices of the CIS, which were held at the high organisational level. This year, Turkmenistan has chaired a number of major events, including the meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, which were very productive.
The humanitarian sphere invariably serves as a reliable link connecting the CIS states and nations. The XIV CIS Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia that took place in the capital of Turkmenistan in May this year contributed to enhancing mutually beneficial contacts in the spheres of education, science and culture.
During his visit in September this year, Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States S. Lebedev underlined the important role of the First Caspian Economic Forum, held in the Avaza national tourism zone in August, which was attended by representatives of nearly all the CIS nations.
The meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Ashgabat will give a new impetus to implement the existing diverse potential for interaction and contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation.
Ultimately, all this will serve to strengthen relations of friendship and effective partnership among the CIS nations that meets the interests of common well-being and progress.
