The young hockey players from the Sira team beat their peers from the Oguzhan team 3:1 on the last day of the tournament. The team of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan is the first Independence Cup winners.

The new hockey tournament was founded by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy and the Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan with the view of promoting and popularizing this sport among the younger generation.
