Turkmen freestyle wrestler Alp Arslan Begenjov has won a bronze medal at the U20 World Wrestling Championships, which are being held in the capital of Slovakia.

In the bronze-medal bout in the 86 kg weight category, the Turkmen wrestler confidently defeated Turkey’s Sefa Cesur, winning 9–2.

Earlier, Begenjov lost 4–8 to Russia’s Ahmad Mukutov in the semifinals. In the final, Mukutov will face Aedon James Sinclair of the United States, who defeated Japan’s Natsuru Okazawa 7–6 in the semifinals.

In the other bronze-medal bout, Okazawa will meet Kazakhstan’s Askhab Khadzhiev.
