The victory of the Turkmenistan men's 7-a-side football team at the prestigious Gothia Cup international tournament, held in Gothenburg, Sweden, has become another significant achievement for the nation's sports.

The competition brought together athletes with intellectual disabilities from 17 countries, showcasing outstanding sportsmanship, determination, and the true spirit of competition.

The Turkmenistan national team, formed with the support of the National Center of Special Olympics Turkmenistan, demonstrated an impressive level of preparation on the European stage. Through determination, teamwork, and perseverance, the team lifted the tournament's coveted trophy—the Gothia Cup.

In the final match, the Turkmen footballers faced the Estonian national team and secured a hard-fought 4–3 victory, becoming champions of the prestigious international competition.
