The Turkmenistan Alysh Belt Wrestling Championship was held in the multifunctional sports complex of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. More than 200 wrestlers from the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as regions of the country, took part in the competition, organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports and the National Belt Wrestling Federation.

The alysh wrestling competition included hard-fought fights in six weight categories. Umyt Karagulov, a student of the Yagshigeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, became the national champion in the 60-kilogram weight category. In the 70 kg weight category, Mekan Nurberdiyev, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, rose to the top step of the podium. The same success in the 80 kg weight category was achieved by the coach of the sports school of Tagtabazar district of Mary region Agayusup Garayev. It should be noted that he also distinguished himself in the championship in national wrestling goresh. Annagurban Allaberdiyev, a student of the Turkmen State Financial Institute, won in the 90 kg weight category. In the 100 kg weight category, the victory was won by a serviceman of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan Palvan Gurbangeldiyev. Nurmuhammet Baidogdyev, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, won in the over 100 kg weight category.
