"On August 15-16, 2024, the World Sambo Cup competitions were held in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan). The tournament took place at the Gazprom sports complex, with 29 athletes from Turkmenistan participating," reported the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan.

The competitions were held among men and women in both sport and combat sambo. Turkmen sambists performed successfully at the event in Cholpon-Ata. They achieved strong results in their respective weight categories, winning 1 gold, 2 silver, and 7 bronze medals.

Turkmen sambists also demonstrated their skills at the Asian and Oceania Championship, which took place in Macau on June 29-30, 2024. In that competition, they won a total of 21 medals (2 gold, 6 silver, and 13 bronze).
