Three Turkmen teams successfully performed at the International youth football Tournament 2024 AFL Kids Cup, held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
The competition between football players born in 2012 was held with the participation of 6 teams. The main prize in this age group was won by the team Batly of the 10th sports school of the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Ashgabat (coach Gahrymanberdi Chonkayev). The football player of this team Kemal Geldiyev was recognized as the Best Player of the Tournament. The teams Odil Junior, Uzbekistan, and Royal, Kazakhstan, took second and third places, respectively.
In the competition among football players born in 2014, the team Gokje (coach Oraz Orazov) of the 11th sports school of the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Ashgabat won. The TFA and Chigatay teams representing Uzbekistan took second and third places. Gokje midfielder Mukhammetaly Rejepov was awarded the Best Player of the Tournament award.
The silver award was given to the Chandybil team (coach Ragim Veliyev) of the 10th Sports School of the Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Ashgabat, which participated in the competition among football players born in 2009. In the tournament with the participation of 6 teams, the host team Lider Best won the main prize. Amanmyrat Charyev, a player of the Chandybil team, was recognized as the Best Striker of the Tournament.
Experts highly appreciated the performance of Turkmen football players at the already traditional International Tournament 2024 AFL Kids Cup, which is of great importance in popularizing football among children and identifying young talents.
