Turkmen athletes who arrived as part of a delegation to Paris to participate in the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games, upon arrival settled in the Olympic Village, located in the northern part of the French capital. During the major sports festival, more than 14 thousand people will live here, including about 9 thousand athletes. As previously reported, the Sports delegation of Turkmenistan was solemnly welcomed in the capital of France on July 23 and hosted in the Olympic Village. Having settled on the tenth-floor Turkmen athletes according to established tradition hung the flag of their native country and a banner with the inscription Team Turkmenistan.
Turkmen athletes say that comfortable conditions have been created for living in a unique sports village, which will later turn into a modern residential complex. After the end of the Summer Olympics about 9 thousand athletes who will take part in the Paralympic Games will live here.
The area of the Olympic Village is 52 hectares. It is located in the districts of Saint-Ouen, Saint-Denis and Ile-Saint-Denis. The Olympic Village was built on a vacant lot near the stadium Stade de France and includes about 40 facilities, including high-rise residential buildings, a hospital, a doping center and training facilities. Almost 4 thousand specialists of various levels and 1,500 volunteers are involved in the work of the building complexes.
