43-year-old football specialist Dovletmurad Annaev as head coach will prepare the Turkmenistan national U20 team for the qualifying matches of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ 2025.

The opponents of the Turkmen football players in the qualifying tournament of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ 2025, which will be held from 25 to 29 September in Bishkek, will be the teams of Japan, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar. They formed Group I.

In preparation for the qualifying matches of the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ 2025,

Turkmen team will participate in the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) U20 Men’s Championship which will be held from 5 to 12 July in Jalal-Abad (Kyrgyzstan).

At the first stage of this tournament the Turkmen footballers will play in Group B with the teams of Iran and Uzbekistan. Group A will feature the youth teams of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.

The winners of the groups will meet in the final. The teams that took second places in their groups will play for the bronze medals. There will also be a consolation match for fifth and sixth places.

Prior to his appointment as head coach of the Turkmenistan U20 team Dovletmurad Annayev coached Ahal from the second round of the national football championship. Under his leadership in 8 matches of the Turkmenistan championship Ahal won 6 victories, drew one game with Altyn Asyr – 2:2 and lost only one match to the current champion of the country Arkadag – 0:4.
