Turkmen athletes won 9 medals at the Central Asian Traditional Karate Championship

Turkmen athletes won 4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals at the Central Asian Traditional Karate Championship.

About 300 karate fighters from five countries took part in the competition, which was held from June 8 to 16 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Turkmenistan national team was represented by 12 athletes.

The following members of the Turkmen team won gold medals: Yhlas Annagurbanov (kata, 14-15 years old), Ibrahim Shagulyyev (kumite, 14-15 years old), Nurgeldi Annagurbanov (kata, 18-21 years old) and Selim Myratdurdyyev (kumite, 22-25 years old).

 

The silver medalists were: Serdar Bayryev (kumite, 16-17 years old), Yagmyrmyrat Sahetmyradov (kumite, 18-21 years old) and Gurbannazar Hummedov (kumite, 22-25 years old). The bronze medalists were: Yunus Muhammetgulyyev (kumite, 14-15 years old) and Myratbek Baltayev (kumite, 22-25 years old).

 

The Turkmenistan national team took third place in the medal standings.
