In the city of Ulan-Ude in the Republic of Buryatia in the Russian Federation an international tournament of the Grand Prix series in combat sambo was held. The competition was held according to the updated rules of the Combat Sambo League.

In the competition Turkmen athlete Suvhan Ovezgeldiyev competed in the weight category up to 88 kilograms, in which he won the gold medal. Representatives of Russia, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic also took part in the international Grand Prix tournament. The winners received a cash prize and a championship belt.

The Combat Sambo League was founded in February 2020 with the aim of popularizing this sport and supporting its athletes. The main feature of these competitions is that wrestlers can go directly to the final in their weight category without holding preliminary fights.
