Maysa Pardaeva wins bronze medal at Judo Grand Slam Antalya

The Judo Grand Slam tournament was held in Turkey on March 29-31. More than 600 judokas from 93 countries competed for medals on the tatami of the Antalya sports arena for 3 days.

Maysa Pardaeva won a bronze medal of the prestigious tournament for Turkmenistan. The 19-year-old athlete showed this result in the under 57 kg category, in which 44 judokas performed.

Maysa Pardaeva defeated Ngoc Diem Phuong Nguyen from Vietnam, Jasmine Martin from South Africa and Pauline Starke from Germany. Maysa lost to a French judoka Faiza Mokdar in a stubborn fight in the quarterfinals. Her victory over Jusi Kim from the Republic of Korea in the ‘consolation match’ gave our judoka an opportunity to fight for a bronze medal. The Turkmen judoka was stronger than Qi Cai from China in the decisive bronze medal match.

Christa Deguchi from Canada won a gold medal, and Rafaela Silva from Brazil won a silver medal. The second bronze medallist is Faiza Mokdar from France.
