The Multifunctional Sports Complex of Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports hosted the Kurash Wrestling Championships of Turkmenistan for the athletes born in 2007-2009, 2004-2006, and for the senior wrestlers. The tournament was organized by the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan and the Kurash Wrestling Federation.

The Championships gathered hundreds of athletes from Ashgabat and all regions of the country and consisted of intense and interesting meetings.

The team of Lebap Velayat topped the medal standings of the youth born in 2007-2009. The team of Ashgabat took the second place. The team of Lebap Velayat has no equal in the girls’ event in this age category. The team of Mary Velayat became the runner-up.

The team of Ashgabat took the first place in the event for boys born in 2004-2006. The representatives of Lebap Velayat became the runners-up. The athletes of Lebap Velayat had no equal in the event for girls of the same age category. The representatives of the Turkmen capital took the second place.

The Championships of Turkmenistan for the senior wrestlers was even more intense. The team of Ashgabat won all the gold medals in the men’s events and topped the team standings. The wrestlers of Lebap Velayat took the second place. The female athletes of Lebap Velayat won the first place in the team standings. The team of Ashgabat became the runner-up.

The winners of the Championships of Turkmenistan received the letters of honour and gifts.
