A Turkmen weightlifter Anamjan Rustamova won a bronze medal in the snatch in the under 81 kg weight category at the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent.

A. Rustamova lifted 105 kg in the snatch and ceded to the host of the tournament Rigina Adashbaeva from Uzbekistan (107 kg) and Kim Su-hyeon from Korea (110 kg).

The Asian Championships started in Tashkent on February 3 and will last until February 10.

Along with medals in 10 weight men’s and women’s categories, the Asian weightlifters are competing for ranking points which will help them qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
