On December 27, an awards ceremony took place after the international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the year ‘Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar’. In particular, the athletes who achieved brilliant results at the XIV World Kurash Championship held in Ashgabat in November this year, the coaches who prepared them for this large international tournament, as well as Arkadag FC of the hyakimlik of the city of Arkadag received generous gifts.

According to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a MAN RR3 19.440 EEV bus was presented to the Arkadag FC, the national champion and the holder of the Cup of Turkmenistan. It should be noted that the establishment of this football club became a significant event in the sports life of the country this year and gave a powerful impetus to the development of this popular mode of sports. A developed infrastructure for physical education and sports was created in the city of Arkadag at the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

According to the results of the World Kurash Championship, which gathered representatives of Asia, Africa, Europe, South and North America in Ashgabat, the Turkmen wrestlers won 15 medals in 15 weight class events. The gold medallists, coaches and teachers were awarded two Toyota Camry V6 and five Toyota Fortuner SR5 produced in 2023.

Moreover, Dortguly Tejenov, a kurash wrestling coach and teacher at the High Sports Excellence School of Turkmenistan of the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, and Shirin Kubayeva, a coach and teacher at the Turkmenabat sports school 7 of the Lebap Velayat Main Department on Physical Culture and Sports of the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, were awarded the title ‘Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan’.

The award winners expressed their sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and noted that they would make every effort to enhance the international prestige of the Turkmen sports.
