Thanks to the initiatives of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to develop high-level sports, which are successfully implemented under the wise leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, our white marble capital Ashgabat confirms its status as a venue for large international tournaments of the regional and world level. In these autumn days of the year ‘Happy Youth with Arkadag Serdar’, Turkmenistan prepares for another festival of sports – the 2023 World Kurash Wrestling Championship. Our country takes the necessary steps to hold the World Championship responsibly and to struggle for medals at the tournament.

Thus, the beautiful Turkmen capital is ready to host the XIV World Kurash Wrestling Championship at a high level. This tournament will include 15 weight class events, namely, 7 weight class events for men and 8 – for women. In each weight class event, the athletes will struggle for one gold medal, one silver medal and two bronze medals. Thus, the tournament will number 60 prize places.

15 wrestlers (7 men and 8 women) will protect the sports prestige of our country. They held several training sessions abroad and at the modern sports facilities in the city of Arkadag. Four Turkmen specialists will work as judges at the World Championship.

The members of the organizing committee of the World Kurash Wrestling Championship conducted regular conferences and meetings on the eve of the tournament.

We believe that the upcoming World Championship will be successful for the Turkmen athletes and will bestow wonderful impressions to the fans.
