On September 8, 2023, the Asian Games Torch Relay officially started. The ceremony took place at Xihu Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The first torchbearer is an Olympic swimmer Luo Xuejuan.
106 torchbearers take part in the event. The Summer Asian Games Torch Relay will run through 11 cities in Zhejiang Province from 8 to 20 September.
According to the Organising Committee, the programme of the XIX Asian Games Hangzhou includes 40 sports, with e-sports and breakdancing that will debut at the Asian Games.
More than 12,000 athletes from Asian countries, including Turkmenistan, will perform at the Asian Games in Hangzhou.
The XIX Summer Asian Games will be held from September 23 to October 8.
