The international rally race «Silk Road 2023» held on the territory of the Russian Federation ended on July 15, 2023. In total, from Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, 3 of sports cars (3 «Nissan Patrol» cars) and 3 cars for technical service took part in this race.
Athletes from Turkmenistan successfully participated in the 9-round competition. As a result, the crew consisting of Merdan Toylyev (driver) and Shohrat Toylyev (navigator), representing the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, took the 2nd place (they performed at number 231) in the «T2» rally-raid type of automobile sport. The crew of driver Maksatmyrat Danatarov (consisting of the coxswain Didar Orazmedov) finished the race in 3rd place (they performed at number 232).
At the «Silk Road» international rally organized in 2022, all Turkmen teams took the podium. Merdan Toyliev's team won. Shamyrat Gurbanov's crew took 2nd place, Maksatmyrat Danatarov's crew took 3rd place.
