In the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, the promotion of the large-scale physical culture and health improvement movement and sports of the highest achievements is the focus of attention of the President of Turkmenistan. Huge state support enables Turkmenistan to stage international tournaments and Turkmen athletes to perform at international competitions, whose victories raise the authority of our country as a sports power.
The state sport policy is yielding positive results, and Turkmen sport is reaching the victorious frontiers.
On April 7, the ceremony in honour of the athletes of the Turkmenistan national teams, who successfully performed at the international competitions in January-March this year, took place at the martial arts sports complex in the Ashgabat Olympic Town.
The award ceremonies of the Turkmen athletes were organised jointly by the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, other ministries and departments, the Ashgabat Hyakimlik and the public organisations.
In the first months of 2023, the Turkmen athletes won the high awards of the major international competitions.
The Turkmen athletes successfully performed at the Asian Open Schools Aquatic Championships in Bangkok, the Central Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships in Tashkent, the Junior European Cup in Sarajevo, the Sambo Founders Cup tournaments in Moscow, the Youth World Weightlifting Championships in Durres, the International Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition in Tbilisi, the Isa Town Tournament (U14), the IIHF Asian Oceanic U18 Championships (U18), the European Judo Open in Sofia and the Karate1 Youth League in Fujairah.
On behalf of the Hero-Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan, the winners and prize-winners, as well as their coaches received memorable gifts and wishes for new achievements in sports!
