The Karate-Do Cup of Turkmenistan took place at the Olimp secondary sports school and provoked great interest of the sports community of the country. About 700 athletes from the Turkmen capital and the regions of the country took part in the tournament organized by the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan and the Karate-Do Federation of Turkmenistan.

The competitions were held according to the rules of the World Karate Federation (WKF) in kumite and kata disciplines. The tournament included several weight and age class events with unexpected results.

The Hemra club (Ashgabat) took the first place in the team standings. The athletes of this team won 6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals. The Champion team (Balkan Velayat) earned 6 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze medals and became the runner-up, while the Balkan team (Balkan Velayat) entered the top three with 5 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
