The Youth & Junior Wushu Cup of Turkmenistan has been recently held for the athletes born in 2005 – 2007. The competition at the event was very close. The athletes from the Turkmen capital and regions of the country struggled for victory in the tournament held at the Gokje Sports Complex in Buzmein Etrap, Ashgabat.

The team of Ashgabat won the first place in the team event. Hekim Ahmedov (42 kg), Gudrat Berdiliyev (52 kg), Seydulla Akmammedov (65 kg), Shohrat Rejepov (70 kg), Gurbangeldi Ataev (75 kg) and Shatlyk Agabaev (+75 kg) triumphed in the men's events and contributed to the victory of the team of Ashgabat. Hemra Halmyradov (48 kg) and Hezret Ovezgeldiyev (56 kg) won the first places for the team of Ahal Velayat, which became the runner-up in the team event. The team of Lebap Velayat entered the top three. Kemal Abduliyev (45 kg) from this team defeated all opponents in his weight class. Besides, Gaygysyz Galandarov (60 kg), an athlete from Dashoguz, won a gold medal in the men's event. Merjen Ashyrova (Dashoguz, 56 kg), Ogulshat Hirimova (Mary, 60 kg), and Irada Tadshiyeva (Ahal Velayat, 75 kg) had no equals in the women's events. The winners of the tournament, which was of great importance in selecting the members of the national team, were awarded with the letters of honour and gifts from the State Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan and the Wushu Federation of Turkmenistan.
