On August 17, a member of the Turkmenistan kickboxing team Serdar Mammedov won a gold medal of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games, which are taking place in the Turkish city of Konya.
Serdar Mammedov performed in the under 81 kg category. Athletes from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Yemen, Uzbekistan, Cameroon and Algeria competed with the Turkmen kickboxer for medals. Our compatriot became the champion in the competition.
The Turkmenistan national team is performing in 10 sports at the Games and has won 21 medals.
