On August 17, kickboxers started competing for medals of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games. A member of the Turkmenistan kickboxing team Hajimurad Geldymammedov became a bronze medallist in the kickboxing tournament.
A coach and teacher at sports school 1 of the Ashgabat Main Department of Sports and Youth Policy Hajimurad Geldymammedov performed in the under 86 kg category. Athletes from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Uzbekistan competed with the Turkmen kickboxer for medals.
The Turkmenistan national team is performing in 10 sports at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games.
