The Turkmenistan futsal team won a spot in the final tournament of the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup after Kyrgyzstan had lost  the qualifying game  to  Iran.

The Iran team took the first place in Group A after they had defeated 8:1 the Kyrgyzstan team. This result enabled the Turkmenistan team to rank second in Group A of the Center and South Zone of the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup qualification. Turkmenistan beat Kyrgyzstan (3:1) and the Maldives (7:0) and lost to Iran (0:3). Our team scored 6 points in the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup qualification.

Our futsal players gained this achievement under the leadership of 37-year-old coach Guvanch Kanaev.

Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Thailand, Oman and Vietnam have qualified for the final tournament through  the qualifying process.

The 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup finals, in which 16 strongest national teams of the Asian Futsal Confederation will perform, will take place in Kuwait from September 25 to October 20.

Turkmenistan will take part in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup for the 7th time in its history (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012).
