On March 25, 2022, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan via videoconference to approve the new members of the Government, discuss current issues of public life and consider a number of draft documents.
The President also noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening strategic partnerships with the UN. In this regard, the President said Turkmenistan received two good news from the 61st plenary meeting of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on March 15.
The Resolution «The integration of bicycling into public transport systems for sustainable development», co-sponsored by 62 states, was unanimously adopted at the initiative of our country.
As is known, cycling is an eco-friendly sport that plays a great role in promoting human health. In Turkmenistan, the number of people who begin to actively practice cycling is increasing with every passing year. Cycling also brings great emotional pleasure, allows getting in touch with nature, exploring the surrounding world and learning more about the native land by visiting its wonderful regions.
The President emphasised that in 2018, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution to declare June 3 World Bicycle Day at the initiative of Turkmenistan.
Another good news is that Turkmenistan was elected to the UN Commission on International Trade Law for 2022-2028. This significant event will raise the authority of the sovereign Motherland.
